With so many politicians seeking to speak to their base – whether left or right – it just gave TDS tons of fodder. Kinda makes you wonder if there’s a politician alive who hasn’t said one thing on camera and then turned around and completely contradicted him or herself months or even days later.

Gotta love the conservatives. Apparently the U.S. government has spent $1.3 billion of tax dollars on abstinence programs … only to realize that teens still like to have sex. Shocking.

Also like the part where the Republican congressman from Tennessee said that it would be “elitist” to believe that people “who have degrees in this field or who have studied it somehow know more than parents.” Um … yeah. Crazy for someone to think that because they have studied something that they might know more than people who haven’t. Yeah, that’s just nuts.

Hilarious.

By the way, Viacom, your own people are telling you how stupid you are being. Quit suing Google and work with them. Everyone loves YouTube and obviously it’s not hurting your product. Very few shows – if any – are more uploaded to YouTube than the Daily Show and it’s spin-off, The Colbert Report. Yet, those shows have never been bigger or better. Everyone knows and loves them. Stewart and Colbert are Hollywood and media darlings (outside of Fox News, of course).

Also, I find it funny that not only are all the bloggers talking about this clip on the Daily Show, they are all posting the clip from YouTube. However, since you narrow-minded idiots will most likely have the clip pulled soon – if not already, I’ll post your clip instead. I don’t know why you insist on going through the trouble when YouTube and it’s viewers are willing to do the work for you, but whatever. Here you go.

The new season just sort of snuck up on me. Luckily my TiVo is more alert than me so it has already started recording some of my favorite shows. I just had to fill in the new shows. At the same time I decided to clean out some of the old ones. Desperate Housewives and LOST have been moved to summer this year. I don’t care enough to watch Desperate Housewives during the season and LOST was much easier to watch during the summer (as I did with season 1) when I can watch two or three shows at a clip.

The main character is 43 and claims to be a millionaire in present day. The show is a look back at 1994 when he finally decided to grow up.

The pilot wasn’t bad, but not great either. It has a lot of pretty funny parts – mostly just Corddry playing a pathetic, yet likable character. Lenny Clarke was amusing as Corddry’s frustrated father who just wants him to get out of the house. His mother was probably the funniest character outside of Corddry. She was a complete enabler of his lazy ways. I had to look her up on IMDB to figure out where I knew her from and was surprised to realize that she was played by Julie Hagerty, who was Elaine on the movie Airplane.

All in all, not a bad pilot. But unless it gets better I don’t think I would commit to TiVo’ing every week. I’ll watch the first couple of episodes and see where it goes.

UPDATE: This show isn’t on FOX’s fall schedule. According to TV.com, it doesn’t premiere until March.
