Does anyone still read Sports Illustrated?

Posted by Adam on October 23rd, 2007

I’m not trying to run down SI or claim that they are dead. I’m really wondering what their reach is these days?
I was just reading ESPN and noticed that Rick Reilly, who was famous for writing the back-page story every week in SI, is moving to ESPN. My first thought was “wow, he’s […]

Cowboys planned to win by forcing Brady to throw?

Posted by Adam on October 16th, 2007

Let me get this straight … Wade Phillips came up with the game plan to beat the Patriots by shutting down the run and forcing Tom Brady to beat them? Seriously?
You want to focus on Sammy Morris, who could walk into most offices in Boston - wearing his jersey - and wouldn’t be […]

Quit crying BCS haters

Posted by Adam on October 15th, 2007

Like most sane people, I want a college football playoff system and I’d like to dump the BCS. That said people need to layoff the computer rankings that have USF #2. People cried for years (rightly so) that polls are biased. Well, there’s nothing biased about a computer. It just processes the facts.

Was Chris Myers about to let a Mexican joke fly during the Daytona pre-race? Check out the video. It sure looks like he had something potentially embarrassing to say before he quickly threw it in reverse.

Arizona Cardinals sign Whisenhunt as new head coach

Posted by Adam on January 14th, 2007

Wow. Well, I’m surprised. I really thought the Steelers would hire him. But, in a move that I’m sure surprised more than just me, Ken Whisenhunt has signed on to become the new head coach of the Arizona Cardinals.
Of all the places, I just didn’t see him in Arizona because of their history of […]

Reggie Bush gets lit up

Posted by Adam on January 14th, 2007

Reggie Bush had a great game in helping the Saints advance to the NFC Championship. But his day didn’t start out great. On the second play of the game, Sheldon Brown just knocks him the F out. Bush tried to get up from it, but fell back down and then tried to crawl off […]

Phil Jackson decides to revive the feud with Shaq

Posted by Adam on December 26th, 2006

Wow. I guess Phil Jackson wasn’t content to let the Kobe/Shaq feud finally die. It’s been pretty much non-existent for a year or more. Most people have moved on with their lives. Kobe is playing well in L.A. Shaq won a title with Miami. It was done.
But now Phil has fired a shot at […]

Merry Christmas, T.O.

Posted by Adam on December 25th, 2006

Ah, it warms my heart to read that T.O. and the Cowboys got slapped around by Philadelphia and Jeff Garcia. It must just sting the hell out of T.O. to know that his new team - the one that was considered a lock for the Super Bowl when they signed him - was beaten […]

NASCAR cheers

Posted by Adam on October 31st, 2006

I went to the NASCAR race here in Atlanta yesterday. The weather was beautiful so the track was filled with fans cheering on their favorite drivers. I’ve been to a dozen or so races, but I think yesterday was the first time I noticed all of the different ways fans cheer for their drivers.
There’s […]
