Congress looks for approval to punish TV violence … for the children

April 25th, 2007

Great. Congress is looking for approval to fine networks for violence on TV – up until now they were only allowed to fine for sexual content. Oh, and they want the power to fine basic cable stations as well. Good times.

So what’s the over-under on how many times they’ll mention the VT shootings while debating this? Dr. Phil has already blamed video games, even though the VT shooter didn’t own a single one. And the previous record for worst school shooting happened back in the ’60s. I guess all that Donna Reed and Mr. Ed just corrupted that guy’s mind.
