Jackass 2 DVD … buy it … now!

December 28th, 2006

I loved the TV show and thought the first movie was great. But the second movie was so much funnier. I saw it twice at the theater and now I own the DVD.

During the “making of” segment on the DVD, Johnny Knoxville said that because they were so easily recognized everywhere they went they couldn’t do a lot of pranks on the street. So they ended up doing them to each other. And I think it just made for an even funnier movie.

If you haven’t seen this movie yet, go get it. The DVD not only has an unrated version of the movie, it has deleted scenes, a “making of”, outtakes, and about two dozen extra segments that didn’t make the movie. I just spent all evening watching the DVD and I never even watched the actual movie.

Below is one of my favorite stunts. It’s nothing completely off the wall or dangerous. But it’s brilliant in it’s simplicity.

Real Genius part 2?

December 28th, 2006

Val Kilmer trying to drum up interest in a Real Genius sequel? Sounds crazy to me, but Virgin.net is reporting it and Ain’t It Cool News is also playing along. Hey, I loved the first one and Kilmer’s career isn’t exactly on fire right now so what the hell. Why not.

Phil Jackson decides to revive the feud with Shaq

December 26th, 2006

Wow. I guess Phil Jackson wasn’t content to let the Kobe/Shaq feud finally die. It’s been pretty much non-existent for a year or more. Most people have moved on with their lives. Kobe is playing well in L.A. Shaq won a title with Miami. It was done.

But now Phil has fired a shot at O’Neal:

“He’s the one guy that didn’t really like to work,” said the coach who boasts nine NBA championship rings. “I know Pat [Riley] got him working here in Miami. We had a hard time getting him to work. All the other players — Michael [Jordan], Scottie [Pippen], Dennis Rodman, all those guys that we had, Horace Grant, they’re all hard-working practice and personal work players.”

He even poked at Dwyane Wade:

“He travels on that spin move. He picks up that pivot foot … everybody knows it. Dwyane Wade can cover so much ground when he makes that move. As you know, he can go 20 feet with that spin move and get to the basket.”

I’m not sure if this will revive the Kobe/Shaq feud, but it certainly has started a new feud.

Merry Christmas, T.O.

December 25th, 2006

Ah, it warms my heart to read that T.O. and the Cowboys got slapped around by Philadelphia and Jeff Garcia. It must just sting the hell out of T.O. to know that his new team – the one that was considered a lock for the Super Bowl when they signed him – was beaten by the team who tossed him out. And worst of all, that team was led by Jeff Garcia – the QB from San Francisco who he blasted as he left town. He called the man gay, and said that Garcia owed his career to him.

I also loved reading “Dallas also was hurt by Terrell Owens dropping a perfectly thrown deep pass on the series right after Philadelphia’s final field goal” and “loudly boo Owens for another drop with 3:07 left”. Of course, neither drop really mattered that much. The game wasn’t close. Still, it’s great.

UPDATE: AAAH, poor T.O. It appears that the whole reason they lost and that he isn’t playing well is because they aren’t going to him early enough. Never mind that he’s dropped more passes this season than any other WR in the league. The drops are because he isn’t getting the ball early enough. Hell, no one needs the ball late; it’s early in the game that counts. Remember Michael Jordan? He never wanted the ball at the end of the game. As long as he scored in the first period, he was fine.

Whatever, T.O.

Ocean’s 13 Trailer

December 21st, 2006

Below is a trailer for Ocean’s 13, the next sequel in one of my favorite movie franchises. I love George Clooney and Brad Pitt in their roles. And while I thought Ocean’s 12 wasn’t nearly as good as Ocean’s 11, I’m definitely looking forward to 13.

Trump vs. Rosie

December 21st, 2006

First, I have to say that I don’t like either Donald Trump or Rosie O’Donnell. I think both of them are near the top of the list of huge-egoed, blow-hardy, windbags. However, it’s always fun to watch two people you dislike beat the crap out of each other. And I really love the fact that Trump didn’t hold back one bit when he fired back on her after she called him a “snake-oil salesman” for his handling of the Tara Conner “controversy”.

Trump just annihilated her. He said he was happy when her talk show failed, happy when her magazine (which he called a disaster) failed. Some other gems included: “how did she even get on television”, “we’re all a little chubby but Rosie’s worse than the rest of us”, “it’s not the chubbiness; Rosie is just a very unattractive person”.

At one point in his rant, he says he would fire her from the View. “I’d look her right in her fat, ugly face and say ‘Rosie, you’re fired.’”

I know he’s no better than her and calling someone unattractive is crazy coming from a guy with hair like that. But I love watching someone actually look into a camera and unload on someone like that. Awesome stuff. Plus, the guy basically bought a beauty pageant as an excuse to bang hot, young women. And I gotta respect that.

Check out the video of Trump:

My heavens, what a controversy we have with Miss USA

December 21st, 2006

I use “controversy” facetiously, of course, since I think that whole thing is completely stupid. Let me get this straight. So Tara Conner, a gorgeous 20-year-old woman with money and a little bit of fame, parties it up at some bars while in NYC? Stop the presses. Go into any nightclub or bar in NYC and you’ll see the same thing all over the place. That’s a perk of being young and beautiful.

Oh, and she was making out with the winner of the Miss Teen USA who is also young and gorgeous and 18? Um, OK. Now there’s a story. Not in the “oh, the humanity” kind of way. In the “dear God, this is awesome” kind of way. Are you kidding me, I think she deserves some kind of new award. Like hottest pageant winner in a decade.

Come on, people. There’s a lot more important things in the world to worry about than this.

Unless you have video of the Miss USAs making out!
