Bob Barker retiring after 50 years on TV
After 50 years on TV and 35 with The Price Is Right, Bob Barker is finally going to hang up that wand microphone next June.
Barker is a legend. There isn’t a person in America over the age of 8 who doesn’t have memories of staying home from work or school and watching Price Is Right. Phrases like “showcase showdown”, “don’t forget to have your pets spade or neutered”, and of course “come on down” are instantly familiar to nearly everyone.
The old guy is still tossing out the zingers too. On whether or not he’d take an movie roles, he said sure but no nude scenes. “These Hollywood producers want to capitalize on my obvious sexuality, but I don’t want to be just another beautiful body.”
