New features on Google Maps?

Before I headed down to the zoo today I went to Google Maps. Mapped out the drive and clicked Print button. Maybe I’ve just never noticed them, but there were a couple of things I’ve never seen from Google Maps before.

To the right of the directions are little maps that show you the start and end points of your trip. Seems like I may have seen this before, but it’s definitely nice. You can even drag the maps to different parts of the trip, in case there are other parts that may be confusing and could use an extra small-area map.

The other new thing I noticed was a blank Notes box at the top. Very handy for phone numbers or other stuff that wouldn’t be on Google’s map. I know I’ve never seen that one before. I would have used it. There’s always junk like “3rd house from the end” or “if you reach the railroad tracks, you’ve gone too far”.
